What is the 5S Method?
It is a workplace organization method that takes its name from the first letters of the Japanese words SEIRI (Separation), SEITON (Organization), SEISO (Cleaning), SEIKETSU (Standardization), SHITSUKE (Maintenance and Development). This method is the most important factor that should be applied in order to improve the workplace environment.
It would not be right to perceive 5S applications only as in-plant cleaning activities. It is the most effective method for preventing losses, increasing efficiency and ensuring in-plant control.
